PARENTS’ DAY
MOSGIEL HIGH SCHOOL There was a large attendance at the observance of Parents’ Day >at. the Mosgiel District High School on Friday, and considerable interest was shown in the display of school work and the entertainments which were provided. • The programme was opened, with physical exercises ■•'and folk dancing; and the ceremony of saluting the flag followed, at which a recorded rendering jpf an Empire address by Mr W. F. Massey waa given. A combined drill display was’presented, and an address,was given by the rector (Mr Kaye). ■ Ah entertainment was also given jn the Infant Department. Separate displays of school work, were given by the various classes. Standard I displayed handwork; Standard- 11, geography: Standard 111, water colour designs; Standard IV, Nature; study; Form 1, play reading and recitations; Form 2, woodwork and cookery. In the Secondary Department the boys displayed woodwork and the girls home science work; Form. IV of this department French, and Forms V and VI milk-test-ing. . - ■ ’ ■' The Rev. A. C.- Challenger, on behalf of the parents, expressed appreciation of the, good work done by the rector and staff. " . ’
