" Dairy," Oamaru. —For an Indoor wash the following may be recommended :—Slake lime In ...water and add sufficient skim milk to make It the consistency of thin cream. To each gallon add loz of salt and 2oz of brown sugar dissolved In water. Stir thoroughly. If It Is desired to Increase the disinfecting qualities of this It may be done by adding one-third of an ounce of calcium chloride to each gallon of the Wash. For outside work the following ■ recipes and methods will give good results:— (1) Slake half a bushel of lime in boiling water, and keep It covered wltn water during the process. Then strain to remove all sediment. Add 31b of ground rice boiled In water to a thin paste, 41b of powdered Spanish whiting, and 11b of clear glue melted In boiling water. Mix the whole thoroughly, and allow to stand for a couple of days. When using It apply as hot as possible. (2) Slake half a bushel of lime In boiling water. Strain off all sediment and then add 21b of sulphate of zinc and lib of salt dissolved In water. Any vegetable colouring may be added io secure tho desired colour. (3) Slake half a bushel of lime in boiling water. Strain and then add 21b of sulphate of zinc, lib of salt, and lib of whiting. Mixed to the required consistency with separated milk, and apply as hot as possible.
