SURVEY OF COAST LINE

ANNUAL COST TO NEW ZEALAND STATEMENT BY MINISTER (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON,- August 19. “The coet to the taxpayer of the services to be provided by the New Zealand Government for a survey of the coast will be £IB,OOO per annum, not £300,000 as stated by the Institute of Surveyors,” said the Minister of Marine (Mr J. G. Cobbe). “It is not known what the cost will be to the Imperial Government, but it will probably be twice the cost to the Dominion Government. Mr Cobbe added that all he felt he was justified in doing in attempting to obtain employment for New Zealand surveyors %vae to draw the attention of the Admiralty to the fact that land survey parties, if required, could easily be organised in New Zealand.
