Fine weather, with passing cloud and sunshine and a I‘ght south-west breeze, prevailed on Saturday. The maximum temperature was 53 degrees. The weather yesterday. was fine and sunny and there was a light north-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 52.5 degrees. The barometer was falling. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, August 18. Continuous boisterous westerly weather prevailed during the week-end. The wind blew in frequent fierce squalls accompan’ed by heavy showers. The conditions are still threatening and the barometer remains low and registers 29.70 inches. WELLINGTON. August 18. The weather was overcast with occasional showers yesterday morning and the afternoon was clondv but otherwise fine. Some drizzling rain fell between 7 and 8 p.m. A cold southerly breeze prevailed. This morn’ng the wind changed to a north-westerly breeze and fine sunny conditions prevailed throughout the day. The maximum temperature was 55.2 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, August 18. The weather was fine in Christchurch yesterday with considerable sunshine, hut a cold southerly wind was blowing. Today was cold and mostly overcast. The barometer is steady about 29.40 inches.
