TRAIN STRIKES CAR THREE MEN INJURED. (Peb United Pbess Association) GREYMOUTH, August 18, Three occupants of a motor car returning to Greymouth from the Kaita golf links yesterday afternoon had a miraculous escape when the rear of the car was struck by the Christchurch-Greyraouth bound express. The car was hurled into a creek at the side of the track and extensively damaged, R. G. Briekell suffered a dislocated collarbone, abrasions and shock. Mr W. K. Richmond, the driver, a gash on the right cheek, and Mr M. G. O’Malley abrasions and shock. DEATH FROM HEMORRHAGE An elderly widow, Mrs Annie Howard, aged 73 years, who resided at 11 Delta street, Roslyn, died suddenly at her residence yesterday morning at 12.15 as a result of a severe hemorrhage. She had been treating varicose veins in her legs before retiring, and about midnight she found a hemorrhage from the veins. She hurried to a neighbour, who summoned medical assistance, but Mrs Howard died shortly after his arrival. _ A certificate as to the cause of death is forthcoming and no inquest will be necessary. INJURY TO SHOULDER Agnes Wilson, aged 83 years, was admitted to the Hospital at 3 p.m. on Saturday suffering from an injury to her right shoulder, caused when she fell at her home, 94 Cannongate. CONDITION IMPROVED Inquiries at the Hospital yesterday elicited the information that the condition of Albert Waters, who was found at big residence on Friday morning suffering from accidental gas poisoning, has greatly improved,
