PRICES GENERALLY FIRMER FAT CATTLE There was an average yarding of 220 fat cattle forward, consisting principally of medium to prime bullocks, with a few trucks of extra well-finished cattle and an unusually email percentage of cows and heifers. The sale opened firm at last week's opening values, but as it progiessed a noticeable firming tendency for bullocks was shown, with prices advancing fl per head, this rate being maintained until the finish. Fat cows and heifers sold fully up to last week's rates. FAT SHEEP Inclusive of approximately 150 hoggets, the entry in the fat sheep section numbered 1481. The yarding of adult sheep was comprised largely of prime heavy ewes, with a very small percentage of heavy wethers, the balance being made up of light to medium ewes. The sale opened firm at fully Is per head better than last week's value, and this rate was maintained up to the last two races, when a noticeable decline of 2s per head on opening rates occurred for medium ewes. Hoggets sold well, and last week's prices were fully maintained, the best realising up to 225. FAT PIGS There was a fair entry of fat pigs, 176 being penned, and these consisted principally of porkers.
