The steamer River Clyde, from which troops made the famous landing at Gallipoli. is still afloat. She remained stranded at V Beach —where she had been run ashore on April 25. 1915— until July, 1919, when she was refloated and taken to Malta. The next news of her was that she was sold by auction at the Baltic Exchange in being purchased by Spanish owners for £11,500.
