ALL BLACK HONOURED

SOCIAL TO MR F. VORRATH A[ r F. Vorrath, one of the two Otago footballers selected to tour Britairi with the All Black team, was given a social last night bv the Otago branch of the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and joiners. Mr W. T. M‘Millan president of the society, occupied the chair, and extended their best wishes to Mr Vorrath. He said that their union felt very pleased that one of its members had proved worthy of selection as an All Black, and he felt sure that Mr Vorrath’s record, both on and off the field, would be a most creditable one. He hoped the team would make further history on the football field, and that the bonds of Empire would be strengthened as a result of the tour.— < Applause.) A number of other speakers congratulated Mr Vorrath on his selection, and those present joined in singing “ For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow/' Mr Vorrath briefly replied, and refreshments were then handed round.
