Faith in the practicability of sky trains for the transportation of freight was expressed by Elwood Kein. of New York, who piloted a plane to Havana from Key West (Florida), with two cargo-laden gliders in tow. A cross-country sky train. he said, could deliver merchandise at intermediate points without necessitating a landing of the "locomotive," or powered plane.
