MONTREAL'S HARBOUR
Developments on a huge scale for the improvement of Montreal's harbour are to be undertaken. Last season the decreasing depth of water caused some anxiety, and various organisations concerned with shipping recommended remedial work at the earliest opportunity. New piers are to be constructed, which will accommodate 40 large seagoing ships, and the Federal authorities have decided to spend 3,500,000 dollars in deepening the harbour to a uniform depth of 35 feet.
