BIBLE SOCIETY OF OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND
A meeting in the interests of the Bible Society of Otago and Southland was held on Tuesday evening last. Representatives were present from the Cargill Road Methodist, South Dunedin Baptist, Musselburgh Presbyterian, and the South Dunedin Presbyterian Churches. Miss Margaret Ramsay, agent for the society, spoke briefly of the need of securing a more effective organisation within the area represented by those attending. A well-thought-out scheme for the thorough canvassing of the district was considered, and, after discussion of the whole matter, it was decided that an Executive Committee, consisting of, the minister and a layman from each of the denominations affected, should be set up to aid in every way possible what was regarded as one of the most purely Christian works open to men to-day.
