MAIN SOUTH ROADS

TO THE EDITOB

Sir,—Would it not be a good idea, now that the City Council is finding that it has too much money in its reserve funds, for the whole council, not the Works Committee only, to go out south and have a look at the main roads leading to our fine old town? The members could first take a ride out by Carigll road, and when they get nervous they could try to get home by the Main South road and that fine, smooth road called Cumberland •treet. I was nearly going to say Wilkie road, but this fine approach will be hardly remembered by the younger generation and very few of the older. These roads are simply a disgrace, and I do not think any other town would countenance their condition for a moment.—l am, etc., Bbokkn Spring. Caversham, June 22.
