TO THE EDITOR > Sib,—Some years ago at an up-country hostelry I met a doubtful looking character, who informed me that he was the editor of the Bulletin, enjoying a holiday. Humouring him, I said in the course of conversation: "You're pretty hard on 'Billy' Hughes, are'nt you?" Lord bless you," he replied, " that's what he likes; its an arrangement we have with him. Keeps him in the public eye, Le tells me." That is why I give a reminiscent chuckle when I &«e Plain Bill's" letters on Dr M'Millan.—l am, etc.. P- Malthus. Hillgrove, June 24.
