UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF
LOCAL OPERATIONS WORK FOR TO-DAY. THE GORE DISTRICT RELIEF WORKERS REINSTATED. (Special to Dail? Times.) GORE, June 2fi. Advice has been received by the secretary of the Gore Unemployment Committee that men who were struck off the register for refusing to go to the Joseph-ville-Caroline road camp job have been reinstated and placed on the No. 5 scheme. This decision was the result of an interview between Mr W. D. Shelton, chairman of the local committee, and the Minister of Employment (Mr S. G. Smith) and the deputy chairman of the Unemployment Board (Mr W. Bromley). The men are required for work at Diamond Peak, near Gore. The local committee had agreed to do everything possible to have the men reinstated.
