Stamp collectors who have been reading lately about the activities of the rebel Greek cruiser Averoff probably idb not realise that they have seen her picture many times on one of their own stamps. It is the three-drachmae value of the 1927 pictorial issue 6f Greece, which is still in use. The fact that * likeness of the Averoff should have been selected for one of these stamps, all of which are specially designed to look attractive, is some measure of the Greek nation’s pride in the flagship of its navy.
