JEWISH REFUGEES
DEPARTURE FROM GERMANY OFFICIAL FIGURES PUBLISHED BERLIN, May 10. Voelkischer Beobachter publishes the first official figures regarding Jewish political refugees since the introduction of Nazism. Ninety thousand Jews and 20,000 non-Jewish members of political parties have left Germany. Ten thousand, of whom 99 per cent, are Jews, have since returned and have been sent to concentration camps for “ acclimatisation.” The Economic Ministry estimates that Germany’s capital loss owing to “ emigr*. tion ” is £32,000,000.
