The historic building which gave Limehouse, the East London riverside quarter, its name centuries ago is to be pulled down. It is the lime house which forms part of the premises at present occupied by R. Passmore and Co., Ltd., lime and cement merchants, of Three Colt street. Twenty beggars formed a business-like organisation at Moravska Ostrava, in Czechoslovakia. They divided the town into " beats," one to each beggar, to prevent over-lapping, " pooled " the money they got, and bought a motor car. Their leader drove parties of them to various towns in the district, and each party then "worked" the place.
