THE WEATHER
The weather yesterday was overcast and cold, the maximum temperature being 53deg. A light south-west breeze was blowing. The barometer was steady at 30.15 in. CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, May 8. Fine, sunny weather and a moderate southerly wind again prevailed to-day without indications of an early change. The barometer was steady all day at 30.00 in. . WELLINGTON, May 8. Cold and changeable weather was experienced to-day. It was dull during most of the morning, with occasional showers, but in the afternoon there were periods of sunshine. A fresh southerly wind blew all day. The maximum temperature was 50.3 deg. CHRISTCHURCH, May 8. The weather to-day was fine but chilly, with a strong south-west breeze. The maximum temperature was 51.8 deg. The barometer was steady and the reading tonight was 30.16 in.
