Mr Richard Hudson was a passenger by yesterday's- express for the north, en route for Wellington. Mr G. W. Thomson was a passenger by the express yesterday for the north, en route to Wellington. Mr and Mrs P. S. Reekie, of Dunedin, left by the express yesterday morning en route for Sydney, where they intend to spend the winter. Mr J. A. Hanan, Chancellor of the New Zealand University, travelled by yesterday's express from Dunedin to Christchurch. The Rev. F. M. Beattie left Dunedin yesterday morning for the north. He is proceeding to England, accompanied by Mrs Beattie. Mr A. C. Stephens left Dunedin by yesterday's express for the north, en route to Wellington.
Superintendent Fraser, of the Police Force, travelled by the express yesterday from Dunedin to Timaru. Detective Jenvey left Dunedin yesterday morning for the north on hie return to New Plymouth.
Mr D. Kerr, manager of the Dominion Fertiliser Company's works, left Dunedin yesterday morning on a visit to Australia.
Mr W. Blackburn left Dunedin yesterday morning for the north. He is proceeding to England, accompanied by Mrs Blackburn.
Mr J. Dunlop was a through passenger by the express yesterday for the north, en route to Wellington to attend a meeting of the New Zealand Dairy Board. Mr A. Miller and Mr J. S. Macarthur left Dunedin yesterday morning for Christchurch to attend a meeting of the New Zealand Woolbrokers' Association. Mr R. W. M'Kay travelled by yesterday's express from Dunedin to Christchurch. He will leave Lyttelton by the lonic to-day for London to further his studies in architecture.
A Press Association message from Wellington states that Mr H. M'Cormick has been appointed secretary and treasurer of the New Zealand Athletic Association in succession to Mr L. A. Tracy. At a meeting of householders interested in the Dunedin North Intermediate School last night the following were elected to the school committee: —Messrs Alfred Middleton, George Perry, Alexander Cook, Malcolm Campbell and Dr C. H. Tate. Messrs G. Watts and S. Owen were nominated to represent the Union Street School on the committee. One nomination, on behalf of the George Street School, is still to be made before the committee is complete. Mr John Stevenson, the new Mayor of Blenheim (states a Press Association message) came to New Zealand from Glasgow in 1877, arriving at Port Chalmers. His education was completed at the Otago Boys' High School. He retired from the position of Commissioner of Crown Lands at Blenheim in 1929.
