SHEEP DOG TRIALS
PALMERSTON COLLIE CLUB (Fhom Cur Own Correspondent.i PALMERSTON, May S. The sixteenth annual trials of the Palmerston Collie Club commenced yesterday. Although the day was cold, there was a good attendance of spectators. The programme was opened with the Open and Maiden Heading event. The following arc the results:OPEN HEADING EVENT. For bringing back and yarding, about a quarter of a mile; time allowed, 10 minutes. J. Donald's Lamm Won, 39 points .. 1 W. Sutherland's Mate, 38J points .. 2 J. M'Gregor's Lloyd, 37i points .. 3 Also competed: G. P. Johnstone's Won 37, A. M'Kenzie's Yaro Mack 36J, J. Rawcliffe's Rock and Jude, W. S. Thompson's Sweep, A. M'Gregor's Tara Mack, R. W. Falconer's ,29 points .. 3 The sheep-guessing competition was won by Mr J. Sheppard, who guessed correctly at 021 b. Miss M. Sheppard was second with 9131 b.
