TRANSMISSION OF THE CATHEDRAL SERVICE
TO THE EDITOR Sir, —I feel sure that I am expressing the wishes of all present in the Town Hall thi ß morning in asking the Rev. J. N. Thompson to accept our grateful thanks for the manner in which he conducted proceedings iu the face of extraordinary difficulties. A« a result of his efforts, what should have been a solemn occasion was saved from degenerating into a farce, and in tins connection I should like to know why 4YA, the chief official wireless station, should not have been instructed to broadcast the official religious service instead of “selected recordings.”—l am, etc., May 6. One of the Audience. [We referred the above letter to the officials of 4YA. The service at the Cathedral was efficiently transmitted by the subsidiary station, 4YO. Neither 4YA nor 4YO’had any responsibility for the transmission to arid “ pick-up ” in the Town Hall. Any interference with the transmission must have been due to broadcasting from another station. — Ed. O. _________
