OBITUARY

MR JOHN DAVIDSON Mr John Davidson, who died at his residence, 65 Serpentine avenue, on Friday, was well known in the sporting community, and was, in his day, a fine Rugby football player. He was originally a member of the Upper Clutha Club and was later a member of the Vincent team, which had considerable success some 28 years ago. Later he played ifor the Zingari-Richmond Club and was generally esteemed as a solid back. He represented the province in the 1906-07-09 seasons. After his playing days were finished, Mr Davidson continued to take an active interest in the welfare of the club, and had filled most of the offices at various times. He was employed by Messrs Donald Reid and Co, He married Miss Eva Abbott, a sister of a clubmate, by whom he is survived, together with a family of one son. and one daughter.
