OUTRAM TOWN BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Outram Town Board was held on Thursday, and was attended by the chair man (MiJames Dow) and'Messrs Hendry, Hughes and Walker. An application was received from the West Taieri Rugby Football Club for permission to use the Drill Hall for its meetings. —Permission was granted provided no football practices were held in the hall. An application was received from Messrs C. and J. Turner and J. Cartwright to have a street light placed at the river end of Skerries street replaced. —lt was decided that street lights should be replaced at the river end of each of the following streets:—Holyhead, Skerries and Beaumaris streets, and one in Beaumaris street between the railway station and the school. An application from the West Taieri Brass Band to have shades and globes in the Drill Hall replaced was granted. Mr D. Hannah wrote in regard to the practice of tipping rubbisli, broken glass, etc., in Formby and Lynas streets. —Held over until next meeting, awaiting inspection and report. s tt was decided that the overflow from the reservoir to the creek be concreted. The sum of £5 was voted for the celebrations in connection with the silver jubilee of his Majesty the King, and £1 was given to the Poppy Day funds. It was decided that a letter of congratulation be forwarded to Mr J. B. Callan. K.C., on his elevation to the Supreme Court Bench.
