To commence Homeward loading to the agency of the Federal Company, the Tongariro reached Bluff on AVednesday from Oamaru. She is due at Port Chalmers to-morrow to continue loading and will sail early next week for Wellington’ and Auckland to complete. The vessel is to clear Auckland finally on May 2 for London. Avonmouth, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow.

PORT CURTIS LOADS FOR LONDON. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Curtis arrived yesterday morning from Bluff, and was berthed at the George street wharf, Port Chalmers, to load frozen meat and other products. She sailed last evening for Wanganui roadstead to complete loading for London. TANKER OILRELIANCE SAILS. The British tanker Oilreliance, having discharged a part cargo of bulk motor spirit from Russia, sailed at 1 p.m. yesterday for San Pedro. The vessel was detained in port on Wednesday owing to the absence of a Chinese member of her crew. NEW MOTOR SHIP WAIRANGL The Shaw, Savlll Company’s new motor ship Wairangl, from Brisbane in ballast after completing discharge at Australian ports, arrived at Picton yesterday morning to commence loading for London. W aimana leaves colon. The Waimana, which left Wellington on March 13 for London, via Panama and Kingston, sailed from Colon on the evening of April 6. FORDSDALE SAILS. ' Having completed her Homeward loading, the Shaw, Savill steamer Fordsdale left Wellington last Monday evening for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via the Panama canal. BUOY REPLACES BEACON. The Auckland Harbour Board advises mariners that Rough Rock beacon in Rangltoto Channel has been destroyed and a new beacon will bo erected as soon as possible., In the meantime the rock Is marked by a black and white horizontally striped conical buoy. After an uneventful voyage, the Commonwealth and Dominion Lino’s motor ship Port Fairy arrived yesterday afternoon from London, via grlstobal, Panama and Suva. She was berthed at the George street wharf. Port Chalmers, and will come to Dunedin this morning to discharge the local portion of her cargo. The Port Fairy left London on March 1, arrived at Cristobal at 7.50 a.m. on March 16. and cleared the Panama canal the same evening. She arrived at Suva at 8.15 p.m. on April 3, discharged part cargo and sailed again at 1.35 p.m. on April 6. Classing the Atlantic the Port Fairy experienced strong westerly gales, which delayed her for about one day. In the Pacific fine and very hot and humid weather was experienced, and the conditions were favourable until the ship was off Cape Campbell on Wednesday. afternoon, when the wind blew very strong from the north. Off Banks Peninsula the wind hauled suddenly from north to south, and continued fresh until arrival off Otago Heads. Captain F. Farmar Is In command of the Port Fairy, and has associated with him the following officers: —Chief, Mr G. W. Jlnman; second, Mr P. H. Pedrick; third, Mr K. D. Morgan: fourth, Mr J. G.
