MOSGIEL HIGH SCHOOL

ENJOYABLE CONCERT Various entertainments are at present being held to raise funds for the Mosgiel District High School. A series of committees control the various functions — garden party, euchre tournaments, dances and concerts. AH have met with fair success, and before the school closes for the Easter holidays a considerable sum should be raised. On Saturday the secondary department held a garden party in the school grounds. Though the weather was not very favourable, satisfactory business was done. Last night a concert was held in the Coronation Hall, and the programme submitted proved unost enjoyable. Instrumental selections were given by Misses Marjory M'Dowall and Mavis M'Cormaek and Messrs F. Bell and Arthur Bolton. Piper Peter Davidson played bagpipe solos, and vocal solos were rendered by Mrs E. Searle, Misses Eva Fawcett and Nan M'Kee, and Messrs G. Simpson, James Simpson and Master Herbert Claridge. Miss M'Kee presented a bracket of recitations. Mrs J. Simpson played the accompaniments, and Miss Mavis M'Cormack played a violin obbligato to Miss M'Kec’s solo, “ Angels Guard Thee.”
