RIFLE SHOOTING
KAITANGATA DEFENCE CLUB. The Kaitangata Defence Rifle Club fired the season’s final shoot on Saturday; the match being a single range. Fifteen shots were fired at 500 yards. Weather conditions were variable, a fairly strong breeze blowing from the right rear, with passing clouds. Some good scores -were registered. J. Richardson, a first-year man, and H. L. Morgan scored 71, with J. H. Frazer and E. Espie, with 70 each, close up. The ladies’ shoot resulted as follows: Miss Bloxham, —67; Miss Carson, 60—3 —63; Mrs Scott, —63; Miss Storer, 62 — 1—63; Mrs M’Crostie, 62—1—63; Miss M‘Kinney,( 56—G —62; Mrs Clarkson, —6l. Four ladies tied for second, third, and fourth prizes, and were placed as shown after shooting off the tie. • After shooting was concluded, an excellent afternoon tea, provided by the ladies, wag partaken of, and the prizes won during the year -were presented to the respective winners by President M.
