NO SITTING LAST NIGHT PROGRAMME FOR TO-DAY (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, March 13. Parliament did not sit to-night owing to the attendance of Ministers being required at Government House, where a dinner was tendered to them by the Governor-General prior to his departure for England on Friday, The day’s sitting lasted only from 2.30 to 5.35 p.m. When the House resumes this afternoon it is intended to proceed with the committee stages of the Broadcasting Amendment Bill. No decision has yet been reached as to when a start will be made with the Rural Mortgagors Final Adjustment Bill. Now that the Mortgage Corporation Bill has been passed by the House of Representatives it will go forward to the Legislative Council for the consideration of that chamber. THE DAIRY BOARD
Asked when it was proposed to announce the names of the Government members on the reconstituted Dairy Board, the Prime Minister (Mr G. W. Forbes) stated this evening that a Cabinet meeting would he necessary to decide that. He agreed that early action would be required in view of the fact that the producers’ representatives had been elected, but he stated that no names had yet been considered in connection with the appointment of Government members.
