When Mr Iliff Ira Strahan, of Spokane, Washington, applied for his birth certificate he was told he was a girl. There was no mistake—the 30-year-old records clearly described him as such. A few hours later he returned with a doctor. It was the doctor wjio had been present at his birth, and after lie had sworn before a notary that Strahan was a male the records were altered. Strahan left the office a new man.
