OTAGO UNO BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday, and was attended by Messrs N. C. Kensington (chairman), G. Livingstone, J. R. M’Culloch, M. A. Kinney, and D. M'Lennan. APPLICATION FOR LAND. The commissioner submitted for further consideration the application of R. D. Eaton for a temporary license over sections 86 and 87, block V, Waitahuna East S.D. (area 81a 3r 06p).—The application was declined, no action being taken in the meantime concerning the disposal on permanent tenure. RIGHT TO OCCUPY.

Allan Cain applied for permission to occupy blocks 111 and XX, town of Naseby (area 6a Or Olp).—Granted at a rental of 10s per annum. Arthur Balt applied for permission to occupy block XVIII, town of Naseby (area 5a 3r OSp).—Granted at a rental of 10s per annum. G. R. M'Knight applied for permission to occupy section 2, block XII, Blackstone S.D. (area 11a Ir 14p).—A year to year right to occupy granted at an annual rental of £l.

Mrs I. H. Adams applied for permission to occupy part of the mining reserve opposite sections 77 and 79, block IX, Maruwenua S.D. —Granted from year to year at an annual rental of 10s. D. A, M’Leod applied for permission to occupy sections 13 and 14, block I, Gimmerburn S.D., at present held in the name of J. M'Leocl. —Cancelled, and permission granted to D. A. M'Leod to occupy area from year to year at annual rental of 20s.

Mrs I. Provan applied for permission to occupy sections 15, 16. 18, 19, 21/24. block IV, Naseby (8a 2r 39p), at present held in the name of T. C; Hore.—Cancelled, and permission granted to Mrs I. Provan to occupy area from year to year at an annual rental of 10s. IMPROVEMENTS.

The commissioner submitted for consideration the application of Adam Young, sole executor in the estate of Thomas Simpson (deceased), holder under E.R. lease of sections 84/86, 109/111, block VI, Papakaio S.D. (266 a Sr 19p). for permsision to install electric light and plant.—Approved. CANCELLATION OF LICENSE.

The commissioner submitted for consideration _ the question of the cancellation of miscellaneous license 1645 in the name of P. F. Kinney over an area of 26 acres, being part section 18, block VI, town of Hyde.—The license was cancelled, the area being reserved for gravel purposes. Consideration was also given to the question of the cancellation of miscellaneous license 3589 in the name of J. M. L. Tod oyer an area of approximately 51 acres in block VI, town of Hyde.— The license was cancelled, the area being reserved for gravel purposes. EXEMPTION FROM RESIDENCE.

N. E. Bennetts, lessee of sections 114 and 120, block IT, Teviot S.D. (12a 3r 39p), applied to have the residence condition waived in his case.—Exemption was granted during the pleasure of the Land Board.

SMALL GRAZING RUN LEASES. The following renewals were accepted:— The lessee (Mrs E. H. Allan), lease over run 98a, Kauroo S.D. (3042 a). The lessee (Mrs H. A. Gordon), lease over run 225 q, Blackstone S.D. (252 a) _ Misa M. Nicolson, lessee of run 225 F, Blackstone S.D. (626 acres). Mrs E. Davis, the lessee of run 225 M, Gimmerburn S.D. (589 acres). J. E. Davis, the lessee of run 225 N, Gimmerburn (744 acres). George Clark, the lessee of run 121 G, Budle (3335 a or^24p). The lessee (K. D. Meyer) of a renewal over run 98, Kakanui, etc.

RENEWAL OF OCCUPATION LEASE. The field inspector’s appraisement for renewal purposes in connection with section 70, block XX, Tuapeka East S.D. (26a 2r 08p) held by N. T. Crowley was submitted.—Lessee to be offered a renewal of the lease for a term of 21 years from January 1, 1936. The field inspector’s appraisement for renewal purposes in the connection with section 38, block 111, Beaumont S.D. (11a Or 20p), held by J. M. Barr, was submitted.—Lessee to be offered a renewal of the lease for a term of 21 years from July 1 next. In cases in which county councils submitted proposals for the expenditure of “ thirds, the proposals were approved and the receiver was authorised to pay. “ FIFTHS ” OF FOREST REVENUE. Proposals for expenditure of £SB 12s 4d, “ fifths ” of forest revenue accrued to the CTutha County Council for the period ended December 31, 1934, were approved. Proposals for the expenditure of £8 19s, “ fifths ” of forest revenue accrued to the Lake County Council for the period ended December 31, 1934, were approved. WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT.

The board was requested to withdraw the consent to the transfer of sections 8/10, 11, block XIII, Lower Wanaka, from John Ironside to John Keith Ironside.— Consent withdrawn.

The board was requested to consider the question of withdrawing the consent to the transfer from S. W. G. Govan to T. G. Govau of sections 104, block IX, Leaning Rock (17a 3r 07p) and 2 of 57, block IX (48a Or 12p).—Consent to the transfer was withdrawn. ' TRANSFERS.
