SPEED BOAT RACING
At a meeting of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association held last evening the president (Mr E. T. Holler) referred to certain resolutions carried by the Port Chalmers Yacht and Motor Boat Club regarding the association’s refusal to allot the speed boat Miss Syndicate a racing number. Mr Holier stated that he felt on reading these resolutions that urgent action was necessary, and he had arranged with Otago’s councillor on the New Zealand Yachting Council to state the association’s case to its affiliated clubs, and had instructed the secretary to. advise clubs accordingly.
After discussion the association unanimously endorsed the president’s action. It was further unanimously agreed that tho owners of Mies Syndicate be asked to appoint a representative to accompany the association’s councillor to state their side of the case, if they so desired. In the meantime the association decided to take no further action until the councillor had explained the position to the affiliated clubs.
