(Received Feb. 17, at 10 p.m.) Strong head winds over the Timor Sea caused the Imperial Airways air liner, Astrea, to return to Darwin after travelling 100 miles from the Australian coast. Captain Youell, piloting the Astrea, decided that with only six hours’ flying range he would have too small a margin of safety for the flight to Koepang. The plane will leave again to-day. TRANSATLANTIC FLIGHT ‘ A NON-STOP EFFORT MARSEILLES, February 16. (Received Feb. 16, at 8 p.m.) Codos and Rossi have left Marseilles on a non-stop flight to Rio de Janie: o, flying the veteran plane with which they established a long-distance record from New York to Rayak in August, 1933. . FLYERS IN DIFFICULTIES ' DAKAR, February 17. (Received Feb. 18, at 1.4 a.m.) Codos and Rossie have reported by wireless that they may be forced down in the Atlantic Ocean owing to falling oil pressure. When midway from the Cape Verde Islands to St. Paul Island they turned back. They are now 700 miles out of Cape Verde Islands. A British vessel is nearby and a French seaplane has been sent out to their assistance.
