THE BELL-KILGOUR CLAIM
TO Tilß EDITOR', Sir, —The footnote to my letter was very l unconvincing. The work at Murray’s claim, on the showing of 6Joz, should be abandoned at once. The directors, says they have no evidence of a false bottom. I would like to ask them where, the; Lady Ranfurly dredge got its large returns? Certainly not on the level on Mich the present directors have been working. Why have the directors forgotten the - special mention of this dredge in the prospectus? The large returns obtained on the claim by the dredge are absolute fact, not mere assumption. The Lady Ranfurly dredge secured large returns on a rich wash running into the bank. This goes to prove that the present working level or the claim is over., and above excellent wash. Had the directors sunk a prospecting
shaft down through the present level to tap this wash, and probably other levels intervening, much better results would have been obtained. The water trouble would be overcome by pumping. But under the present directorship the shareholders’ money has been frittered away without the claim being properly prospected. The fact that the Lady Rant'urly dredge secured large returns on the claim-conclusively proves my contention of a false bottom. —I am. etc., Shareholder.
