HORTICULTURAL TRADERS
CONFERENCE CONCLUDED The annual conference of the New Zealand Horticultural Trades Association was concluded in the Y.M.C.A. Hall yesterday. The president (Mr H. Bennett) occupied the chair, and there was a small attendance of members. It was announced that the winners of the association’s medals-- for the best members’ displays at the National Show were as follows: — Messrs Grainger and King, Timaru. Messrs Skene’s, Ltd., Dunedin. Messrs Moncrieff and Stewart, Dunedin.
Mr T. Y. Turner, Dunedin. It was decided that the next conference should be held at Auckland. A short discussion took place on the subject of Arbor Day, the following resolution being carried;—“ That this conference heartily endorses the principle of Arbor Day, and suggests that members should associate themselves with the movement.” On the motion of the chairman, a comprehensive vote of thanks was passed to all who had assisted in any way in the work of the association during the past year. Special mention was made of the value of the gardening talks given from Station 2YA each week. A vote of thanks to the chairman concluded the business.
