( v]A message from Salamoa. says that District Officer Melrose returned to Salar moa from Mount Hagen bringing Brother Eugene, who was reported killed by natives. Brother Eugene was seriously wounded, having been speared in the lung. , ; i' ' i" ~ . t A previous message stated: A district officer and detachments of native 'constabulary who.ar,e searching for the murderers of Father Mossheiser and Brother Eugene are waiting for reinforcements. This information was brought by Pilot O'Dea, who said he •eaw a large warlike body of* natives apparently waiting to attack the police.
