PILOT’S GREAT RECORD ? MILLIONTH MILE FLOWN (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 14. (Received Dec. 16, at 5.5 p.m.) Captain Youell, the well-known Imperial Airways pilot, to-day completed his millionth mile of flying. Captain Youell is one of the youngest air line commanders, having learnt to fly at the age of 17 on a pre-war contraption of wires and struts. He has completed 10,000 hours in the air, which is equivalent to nearly a year and a-half of continuous day and night flying.
