ENGLISH WOMEN’S TEAM NEW SOUTH WALES DEFEATED SYDNEY, December 16. (Received Dec. 16, at 9 p.m.) In the women’s cricket match New South Wales in their first innings scored 102 (H. Pritchard 27, R. Moneham 25, F. Blade, not out, 17, M. Spear took four wickets for 10. ' New South Wales followed on, and in their second innings lost seven wickets for 175. declared (Miss Monaghan 45, Miss Pritchard 75; M. Hides three for 22). England in their second innings lost three wickets for 57. England won by seven wickets. Commenting on the match, the Sun’s cricket writer, Mr A. G. Moyes, pays a tribute to the English players. He says they play real cricket, which is worth going a long way to see, and even the fielding is of an expert character. Mr Moyes praises Mias Pritchard’s fine 75 runs in 130 minutes yesterday., Her onside glancing shots and cover drives were all beautifully timed.

SHEFFIELD SHIELD MATCHES MELBOURNE, December 16. Queensland in their first innings scored 155 (Levy 31, Hansen not out 50; Ebeling 4 for 33, Fleetwood-Smith 5 for 57). Queensland followed on and lost one wicket for 4. ADELAIDE, December 10. (Received Dec. 16, at 10 p.m.) In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia New South Wales in their first innings scored 400 (Kippax 139, C Hill 30; Collins 3 for 101, Grimmett 4 for 140). South Australia in their first innings scored 249 (Badcoek 15, V. Richardson 57, Lonergan 40, Grimmelt 35; Chilvers 5 for 58.
