BANK OF ENGLAND
ADDITIONAL NOTES ISSUED MEETING CHRISTMAS DEMANDS LONDON, December 14. To meet the Christmas currency demands, the Bank of England in the past week issued additional notes valued at £7,774,009, raising the total active note circulation to £8011,221,328, which is the highest in the bank's history.
