" Lex,” Dunedin.—(l) A debt contracted more than six years ago cannot be collected unless the debtor has admitted the claim or acknowledged it by paying a sum on account. (2) A bankrupt ceases to be liable for the payment of any particular debt wnen he flies his petition in bankruptcy. If he engages a solicitor the nominal fee Is paid by himself when the engagement Is made, or Is paid later by the official assignee out of the estate on a scale according to Its value.
