CITY POLICE COURT

Monday, November 19. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. On a charge of drunkenness, Sarah Elizabeth Smith, who pleaded guilty, was convicted and discharged. MAINTENANCE. An application by John Cecil Donaldson for variation of a maintenance order was refused, but arrears in respect to the order over £5 were remitted. John William M'Donald was charged with default in respect to a maintenance order, the arrears of which to October 15 amounted tj £56 17s 6d. —After hearing evidence, the magistrate suspended the order for three months, or until a further order was sought. An application was made by William James Buller Downes for variation of a maintenance order—After hearing the evidence of the applicant, the magistrate adjourned the ease for a fortnight. James Henry Sargison was proceeded against on a complaint for maintenance. —After hearing lengthy evidence regarding the defendant’s position, the magistrate dismissed the application.
