NATURALISTS’ HELD CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING AND SOCIAL The annual meeting of the Dunedin Naturalists’ Field Club was held in the Somerset Lounge last night. The president (Dr W. N. Watt) occupied the chair. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, the Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe); president, Mr J. Niven; vice-presidents, Dr Watt and Mrs J. A, Moore; treasurer. Miss B. Stewart; secretary, Miss E. Campbell; assistant secretary, Miss E. Farquharson; country corresponding secretary, Miss O. R. Cartwright; auditor, Mr W. G. Howes; committee, Miss H. K. Dalrymple and Mr S. Rawson. In retiring from office the president expressed satisfaction that the club during the past year had been able to pursue the even tenor of its way. He expressed thanks for the support which he had received. The retiring ofiicers were accorded a vote of thanks for their services. Upon the conclusion of the business a social was held, a lecture by Dr Watt on “Aromatics and the Soul” forming part of the programme. During the evening Mrs Watt, accompanied by Miss I. White, sang “ Springtime" (Schubert), and Miss E. Rigby contributed a piano solo.
