Few farmers have the fortune to find that they have a plantation on writer, yet this was the experience of a farmer near Kaub, in Prussia, who noticed that part of his vine yard waß beginning to subside. Workmen digging to investigate the cause found an underground lake. A German, Herr Keilhaus, claims to have invented a new weapon which would deprive armed forces on iand, at sea, and in the air of the power of sight. This weapon, it is stated, can project 1,000,000 candle-power flashes, capable of blinding anyone within its radius.
