VINCENT HOSPITAL BOARD

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Vincent Hospital Board was held in the Dunstan Hospital, Clyde, last Wednesday, there being present: Messrs J. Ritchie (chairman), D. S. Middleton, W. Jclley, S. A. Stevens, C. Weaver, W. Bringans, J. M‘Knight, and G. T. Alexander. Drs Austin and Moir also attended. The inspector of health, Alexandra, wrote forwarding the analyst’s results of milk taken from the cows supplying the Dunstan Hospital.—Received. The Otago Hospital Board advised that four Vincent district patients had received treatment in the Dunedin Hospital. and forwarded accounts totalling £9 Is—due for their maintenance, etc. —Received. The Maniotolo Hospital Board forwarded accounts amounting to £l6 2s —for the maintenance and burial expenses of a Vincent resident who died in the Raiifiudy Hospital.—Received. _ . The Taumarunui Hospital Board wrote claiming £3 3s for the maintenance of a Vincent patient in the Taumarunui Hospital.—Received. The treasurer’s statement of actual receipts and payments for the half-year ended September 30 showed the actual receipts in the maintenance account to be £378 7s 7d more than the estimate and tho actual payments to be £127 17s lid more than the estimate, the board having a credit balance of £542 5s Id. —Approved.

The matron, Dunstan Hospital, reported that during September nine patients were admitted, 11 were discharged, and 11 were in hospital on September 30. The matron, Cromwell Hospital, reported that 22 patients were admitted in September, 23 were discharged, one had died, and 16 remained in hospital on September 30. The schedule of accounts and salaries totalling £604 10s 5d was passed for payment. It was decided to restore as from October 1 half the cut of 10 per cent, made by the board in the salaries and wages of its employees. The following tenders for supplies to the board’s institutions for the year ending October 31, 1935, were accepted: Dunstan •Hospital: Bread, Henderson’s Bakery; meat, Mrs E. Craig; groceries, L. G. Naylor; coal, S. R. Collins. Cromwell Hospital: Bread, A. Scott; meat, none accepted; groceries, G. Stumbles and Sons; coal, A. M'Donald. It wag decided to hold the next meeting of the board at the Cromwell Hospital.
