BOWLING
CAVERSHAM LADIES’ CLUB. The season for the Caversham Ladies’ Bowling Club was opened on Tuesday afternoon under favourable conditions. Mrs A. J. 1 Haub, president, welcomed members, bowlers and friends and expressed pleasure in the fact that the prospects for the club were most encouraging. She thanked the greenkeeper and his assistants for their work on and around the green. ■ Mrs Lawson, representing the Otago Ladies’ Bowling Association, conveyed to the club the best wishes of the centre and stated that she hoped its work would strengthen all the clubs. The president of the centre, Mr J. Forster, congratulated Mrs Haub and expressed the felicitations of Che centre. After Mrs Lawson had roll-d up the first bowl the president declared the green open and members and visitors had a pleasant roll up.
