PETROL FROM WEEDS
If investigations in Europe by Mr F.; E. Nuske, of East Malvern, Melbourne;' who returned recently from London/; have a satisfactory conclusion, noxious, weeds may yet drive motor cars. Mr Nuske said on his return that he had spent six months abroad inquiring into a’ chemical and microbiological process for' the manufacture of ether, motor 1 spirit and fertiliser from weeds, straw and other cellulose material. He said he had brought back with him appliances for a testing laboratory. The establishment of. a factory for the manufacture of, the motor spirit and fertiliser in Australia' from these materials was being con-' sidercd.
