Hereweka .Lodge held its .meeting on Saturday night last, when there was a large attendance of brothers present to greet the N.G.. Bro. M'Kay, Visiting brothers from the city lodges attended in force to assist in the thirty-fourth anniversary celebrations. The D.D.G.M.. Bro. R. 11. Hendry; D.D.G.W., Bro. R. E. Sligo (grand secretary); D.D.G. Chap., Bro. L. Deans Ritchie (grand treasurer), and D.D.G.G., Bro. D. Swinton. installed the following officers:—-1.P.G., Bro. M'Kay, N.G., Bro. R, Kinnaird; V.G., Bro. M. Pero; W., Bro. J. Cunningham; conductor,' Bro. J. D. Rutherford; chaplain, Bro. J. P. M'Cartney; R.S.N.G., Bro. T. S. Edmonds; L.S.N.G., Bro. H. Hanson; R.S.V.G., Bro. YuiH: L.S.V.G., Bro W. Gill; R.S.S., Bro. F. AWerton; L.S.S., Bro. H. C. Brown; 1.G., Bro. J. Harris. The secretary, Bro. D. Arnott, and treasurer, Bro. W. Seaton, were re-elected.' A heaity vote of thanks to the D.D.G.M. and his team was carried by acclamation. Bro. Hendry, thanking the N.G., wished all officers and members a happy term. The grand treasurer congratulated Hereweka on its birthday, and made special reference to the veterans, Bros. Miller and Anderson, who, was the first N.G.' of the lodge, and J. P. M'Cartney. P.D.D.G.M.'s Bros. D. Swinton and W. Smith spoke of their recollections of the early days of the lodge, and wished the officers and brothers every success. A bowling match was played later. St. Kilda Lodge met on Tuesday night, Bro. H. Muir presiding. _ After the business had been dealt with a challenge match, St. Kilda v. All Comers, was played, resulting in a decisive win for St.. Kilda bowlers. Leith, Unity, and Linden responded to the visitors' toast. On Wednesday night the D.D.G.M., Bro. R. R. Hendry, was present in an official capacity to install the officers of the Pioneer Lodge, in which duty he had associated with him D.D.G.M. Bro. A. H. ; Valentine, D.D.G. Chaplain Bro. D. Swinton, D.D.G.G. Bro. M. K. Glover, and D.D.G. Marshal Bro. E. Dunn. The officers installed for the ensuing term were:— 1.P.G., Bro. E. Hastie; N.G., Bro. S. Burtenshaw; V.G., Bi'o. J. Stavenger; W., Bro. J. Lawry; conductor, Bro. F. Dunn; chaplain, Bro. N. Edmonsen; R.S.W.G., Bro. J. Dunn: L.S.N.G., Bro. W. Boeworth; S.S.V.G., Bro. 53. Dunn; L.S.V.G., Bro. F. Bohm; B.SjS.. Bro. H. Hastie; L.S.S., Bro. Robertson; 1.G., Bro. R. Sneddon; 0.G., Bro. E. Wilson. After installations the N.G. called upon the D.D.G.M. to make a presentation of a P.G.'s jewel, CallingvUpon Bro. Merrychurch, P.G.. Bro. Hendry said he felt honoured in being i.skcd to decorate such a worthy brother and hoped that Pioneer Lodge would have his continued support. The recipient in a few words expressed his appreciation of the honour conferred upon him. The D.D.G.M. and his officers were complimented upon a fine ceremony, and thanked for their attendance. All replied, congratulating the N.G. and his officers and expressing the hope that his term would mark the opening of a new era for Pioneer Lodge. Ruth Rebecca Lodge met on Thursday nHit for the purpose of installing offi- j cers. The L.D.D.G.M., Sis. E. Squire; D.G.W., Sis. Baker; D.G. Chaplain. Si*. Wardrop; and D.D.G., Sis. D. Devine, then installed the following:—P.N.G., Sis. Edmonsen; N.G., Sis. Anderson; V.G.. Sis. W. Ross; chaplain, Sis. Stewart; R.S.N.G., Sis. Naylor; L.S.N.G.. Sis. Hastie; R.S.V.G., Sis. Merry; L.S.V.G., Sis. Cross; conductor, Sis. M. Dunn; warden, Sis. Joseph; 1.G., Sis. Schofield. The secretary, Sis. Miller, and treasurer, Sis. Runciman. were re-elected. Replying to the vote of thanks, the L.D.D.G.M. and members of her team congratulated the lodge, and ; wished all a pleasant term. In appreeia- j tion of her excellent record of service. Sis. Townsend waß presented with a P.X.G.'s jewel, which she suitably acknowledged. '
