ANNUAL ATHLETIC SPORTS Yesterday afternoon the pupils of Columba College held their annua] athletic sports on the college playing fields. There was a very good attendance of parents and visitors, and the programme of events proved more than usually interesting. Miss D. Morgan, assisted by a committee of the members of staff and the prefects, was responsible for the arrangements, and Messrs J. M. Fraser, E. F. Lord, J. L. Hobbs, W. H. Shepherd, J. Hogg, S. P. Cameron, and Dr Borrie were the judge's and starters. A feature of the afternoon was the display of marching which preceded the two popular events, the Massed Inter-house Relay and the Inter-form! Overhead Ball. Messrs Johnston and M'Curry, of the Defence Department, judged this event, which was one of the most popular on the programme. . Both championships were well contested, and the excellent performance of Francis Malcolm in the 220 Yards gave her the championship, with Mary Hunter as runner-up.
