After the successful trial of a new and enlarged tape machine system between Berlin and Hamburg, the German Post Office now plans to extend existing communication to other "cities in Germany, and even to foreign countries. The new system wilL enable any private person having a tape machine to send a message to another city, by the simple expedient of telephoning his intention to do so to the Main Telegraph Office, just as he might put in a call for a trunk line. More than half of the commercal fishermen in the world are Japanese.
