ALLEGED POACHING

JAPANESE VESSEL DETAINED CREW TAKEN TO RABAUL CANBERRA, October 11. (Received Oct. 11, at 8.30 p.m.) Alleged to have been poaching in the vicinity of Western Islands, a Japanese vessel, the Yocikine Maru, has been detained and its crew of 24 and Captain Gomi have been placed aboard the Macdhui, which is now en route for Rabaul, where they will be charged with breaches of the Fisheries and Quarantine Ordinance of the Mandated Territory of New Guinea, and with being prohibited immigrants. There was six tons of trocus shell aboard the detained vessel.
