REVOLUTIONARY PLOT
DISCOVERED AT MADRID BOMBS AND ARMS SEIZED MADRID, September 19, The police discovered evidence of a revolutionary plan to destroy police headquarters and various ministries by bombing. They seized a truck containing bombs and ammunition and found other bombs and arms in various parts of Madrid. A complete chemical laboratory was discovered designed to manufacture high explosives. The Prime Minister stated that the Government was confident that it was able to deal with any outbreak.—Times Cable.
PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES MADRID, September 20. (Received Sept. 20, at 8 p.m.) Following the discovery of the Socialists’ possession of substantial supplies of smuggled arms and documents containing elaborate plans for a revolt, the Government has taken drastic precautionary measures. Senor Sampa late at night visited Senor Zamora and reported the situation. The Government is convinced that Left Party supporters now possess all types of weapons, the estimated cost thereof being at least £138,000. Civic Guards yesterday stopped a lorry loaded with rifles, ammunition and liquid flame throwers. The authorities also discovered on the outskirts a chemical laboratory for the manufacture of explosives.
