DOUGLAS CREDIT AND LABOUR. The Labour Party in Australia took a very serious view of the appearance of candidates representing the Douglas Social Credit Party at the recent Federal election. For a considerable time Labour and Douglas Credit supporters were on excellent terms. In their opposition to the Government they found common ground, but when Douglas Credit candidates were nominated the relationship became strained. The Labour papers began to talk of “ The Douglas Delusion,” and it was laid down that no member of the Douglas Social .Credit Panty was eligible to become or continue to be a member of the Australian Labour Party. Conversely it was declared that no member of the Australian Labour Party may, under the rules and constitution of the A.L.P., become or remain a member of the Douglas Social Credit Party. In the Australian Worker the Douglas Credit candidates in South Australia were described ae a “ group of optimists • —super-optimists in fact. _ They really expect to win several seats in the House
